  A visitor in the late 1700’s once said of Tuckahoe that the house seemed “to be built solely to answer the purposes of hospitality”.  Over two centuries have passed and Tuckahoe still fits that description.

     Today, this privately owned home is open for weddings and special events.  The house and grounds provide a picturesque backdrop for any occasion.   Please visit our Event Photos page

The grounds of Tuckahoe are available to rent for events year round.  Lawns on the North, East and West sides of the house as well as field sites provide varied settings for your event or gathering. Whether it be overlooking the James River or in the gardens, the backdrop of your event will be breathtaking.

Tuckahoe can accommodate almost any size event.  Whether you are choosing the site for your wedding ceremony or a corporate function, Tuckahoe provides a beautiful setting for any memorable occasion.  

Renters are asked to be sensitive to the historic nature of the spaces they are using, and behavior should be appropriate for such a setting. During any function, renters and their guests must be aware they are using a museum space that is fragile and irreplaceable. There is "no smoking" in, or near, the Mansion House or outbuildings at any time. Children must be accompanied by an adult whenever touring the historic house.

All renters are required to visit Tuckahoe Plantation for a tour of the property before signing a rental contract.  This will give you an opportunity to see the variety of options first-hand.

Ceremony Only on the Historic Landscape

$1,200.00 Off Season

$2,000.00 Peak Season 

Includes rehearsal or set-up the evening before event

 Reception or Special Event on the Historic Landscape.

Includes rental of one of the three sites on the grounds.  (4 hours.)*

 

 Entire Site Rental for Special Event

including Wedding and Reception.

-Includes wedding rehearsal or set-up the evening before the event, ceremony site and reception site

(5 hours)*

Special Pricing for events larger than 250 guests.

There is a charge of $500 for each additional hour for any event.

Rental fees cover:

•Staff time for meetings and to coordinate event in advance with both renters and contracted vendors.

•Rental of property as above for maximum of two hours per wedding or five hours per combined wedding/reception (not including set-up time.)

•Overtime staff duty during the event and take-down

•Basic lighting, cost of utilities and use of two restroom facilities (serves up to 100 people).

•Cleaning service before and after the event

•Mowing and grounds maintenance services.

•Use of parking lots

•Other related costs.
